An AI-collaboration trainer — prompting, discernment about when not to use it, daily practice. Skill without habit forgets; habit without skill runs empty.

An AI-collaboration trainer — prompting, discernment about when not to use it, daily practice. Skill without habit forgets; habit without skill runs empty.

Most AI tools teach people to be capable. Cue teaches them to be discerning. The users we studied had crossed the capability line — what they’d lost was the seam between suggestion and judgment. Prompt, accept, verify, doubt. Cue rehearses that seam every day.

Cue didn’t start as a product brief. It started as two findings in a 22-participant study — Iteration Death Spiral, Learning and Guidance Needs — that had nowhere else to go.

This is what happens when research keeps its receipts.

A two-layer system

Prompting is treated as a skill, practice as a habit — and Cue refuses to separate them. The skill layer builds discernment through triage, before/after comparison, and traceable confidence. The habit layer holds the loop with streaks that reward effort, not accuracy.

What changed

Every feature traces to a research theme; every fix came from a specific participant moment. Nothing entered the brief on intuition. The discipline itself became the artifact.
